He struck the policeman who lost balance and went down to the street, before Sgt Ansell stepped in and attempted to subdue him to the floor although being repeatedly struck with the knife. Police Constable Wolstencroft Stunned the Aggressor, Jacob Brown, with a Stun Gun Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and sought a open target, ending the struggle to an conclusion. Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "Can I get something on my neck here, I'm bleeding in the neck." Sgt Ansell sustained two deep cuts to his neck and further injuries to his arms and torso, whereas Sgt Foster experienced knife wounds. The department said Sgt Foster utilized his palms to stop his partner's bleeding prior to emergency responders arrived. The latest recognition follows after the three officers were granted organizational Courage Honors in October 2023 and the police federation award from the local union branch in spring 2024. They were also awarded a North West Courage Honor in mid-2024. "The actions of each policeman in the end rescued one another and resulted in no bystanders experienced any harm."
